The Veels are an highly advanced and enigmatic race. Their civilization is based around a strong foundation of science. They have research facilities in almost every corner of known space. One of their many experiments is with strange black holes found scattered throughout the universe, classified as the Phantom Gates. Several were discovered about 1,000 years ago. They are 60 foot sphere shaped black holes covered in a thin layer of protective dark energy.

The Veels believe them to be mini gateways to other dimensions, perhaps even a link to the Chaos Universe.
